Roots of Chromatic and Flow Polynomials of Graphs (950Kb PDF)
This was a 1-hour invited talk presented to the Australasian Conference on Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing held in Alice Springs in July 2006. It gives an overview of the main research problems in these areas and gives a brief description of my result that planar triangulations have chromatic roots arbitrarily close to 4.
