Dr Paul Johnston  BSc (Hons) ANU PhD ANU  Senior Research Fellow

Paul Johnston has degrees in Mathematics and Geophysics from the Australian National University. He has held postdoctoral appointments at Free University of Amsterdam, the Australian National University and is now a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Western Australia working on bushfire simulation for the Australian Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre (CRC). He also worked in the software industry for LogicaCMG on several projects. Paul has diverse interests in efficient computation of numerical solutions to spatial mathematical problems. These problems include bushfire spread, disease spread, rail traffic scheduling and inference of geophysical properties.
