AProf Richard Thomas   BSc Wales, MSc Lond, MPhil York, PhD WAust  Adjunct Associate Professor

Associate Professor Richard Thomas initially worked in industry on airline reservations systems and decision support. He also founded a technology company in 1982. He lectured in Computer Studies at the University of Leeds 1980-92, and since then in Computer Science & Software Engineering at The University of Western Australia. For many years he collaborated on long term user modelling with Judy Kay at the University of Sydney, publishing a research monograph in 1998. His current research interests are in human-computer interaction and software engineering, including user-modelling and advanced monitoring systems.
