To isolate the effects of population density all of the spread parameters except for the infection rates have been set to zero. Hopefully it can be seen that in the initial stages of the simulation, the virus spreads rapidly and as the virus spreads downwards into more sparsely populated areas the spread velocity decreases. Changing the radius of infection will also vary the velocity.
